Out of nowhere, a friend recently sent me a text message that wasn’t one of the usual hilarious memes we share — we have a thing about people falling. And, honest moment here, I’m actually part of a small group chat where we share all kinds of crazy, epic falls… I know, I know — your judgment is warranted, but we always assume no real injury occurred. We’re not a bunch of psychopaths, honestly.
However, this time, my friend’s text began with this one sentence:
“Do you know how many of my thoughts, wishes, and prayers have been answered?”
Prepping me for what she was recently grateful for — a full list no doubt that came within seconds. With everything going on, near and far, I loved reading and re-reading it, and I really wanted to spread the good. She gave me her permission to share it.
Her list dived right in with:
- I’ve got a job that isn’t breaking me.
- My kids are strong and resilient.
- My finances are starting to smooth out.
- My health is finally improving.
- I’ve found a home in two different states.
- I’m with a good man.
- The wrong people have been removed from my life.
- I feel protected.
- I have amazing friends who love me.
Reading that, knowing all the mess she’d been battling for a while now, I couldn’t help but feel it too. I read it over a few more times, and it continued to bring the cheesiest grin to my face and a deep sigh of relief and gratitude in my soul.

Gratitude doesn’t erase any of the hard stuff, but it still shines a brilliant light on the good that’s right in front of us — especially on days that carry extra weight.
So here’s to all our thoughts, reflections, wishes, and answered prayers — the quiet ones, the loud ones, the ones we didn’t even know were on their way.
